About the role
Austek Roads (ACT) are seeking a skilled Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join our team in Hume, ACT. This full-time local position is an integral part of our operations, responsible for the safe and efficient application of bitumen.
What you'll be doing
- Operate and maintain bitumen spraying equipment to apply bitumen to road surfaces
- Ensure accurate and consistent bitumen application as per project specifications
- Perform pre-operational checks and maintenance on all assigned equipment
- Monitor and adjust spray rates and temperatures to achieve desired results
- Work alongside the construction crew to coordinate bitumen application with other activities
- Identify and report any equipment issues or maintenance needs
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated experience as a Bitumen Sprayer Operator or similar heavy machinery role in the construction industry
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of bitumen spraying equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve consistent, quality results
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the construction crew
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
- Current driver's licence and ability to obtain necessary construction certifications
